1. Wash and drain the poha and set aside to dry for ten minutes. Separate the grains with a fork.
2. Heat the milk in a deep non-stick pan. When the milk starts boiling, and the poha and mix well. Reduce the heat and cook, stirring continuously, till it is reduced to half its original volume.
3. Add the sugar, cardamam powder, raisins and cashew nuts and mix. Simmer for five to ten minutes before removing from heat. Transfer the payasam into a serving dish and decorate with almonds and pistachios. Serve Hot Or Warm
